The AP-46, known as the Guadalmedina highway, is a 28 kilometer highway that serves as a connection road between the interior of the province and the coast. The main purpose of building this motorway was to help users navigate with greater safety and comfort the unwelcoming terrain of the Sierra de Malaga, which features an abrupt tilt of nearly 900 meters.
Recently, Sacyr has put two new interchanges into operation, between the MA-20 and A-7 highways, which improve connections with the AP-46 Malaga-Las Pedrizas highway. With an investment of 24 million euros, the new interchanges will reduce travel times between Malaga, its metropolitan area, the Costa del Sol, and the Guadalhorce Valley.
