The Sohar 4 IWP is a 250,000 m3/d reverse osmosis desalination plant located in the Sohar Industrial Port, 200 km west of Muscat (Oman). It was developed (design, finanziation and construction) by Sacyr Water and two local partners (OBIC and Sogex) under a non-recourse project finance with an investment of USD 230 million and a WPA agreement for 20 years of its operation and maintenance. The principal loan was provided by local lenders.Operational since August 2019, the plant will provide employment to locals for years to come.
